Why lease a KGM?

Under the KGM banner, the Korean firm is looking to accelerate its journey on the road to full electrification. And with an offering that covers compact crossovers, luxurious SUVs, and do-it-all pick-ups, KGM offers something for a multitude of lease customers.

One of the unique things about KGM is its alliance with Chinese electric vehicle giants BYD - aka ‘Build Your Dreams’. BYD not only offers its own cars, such as the Atto 3 and the Seal saloon, it’s also at the forefront of EV battery technology, patenting its own in-house ‘Blade’ unit, which is free from cobalt, cheaper to produce, and more sustainable.

And because Blade batteries are incorporated into an EV’s integral structure, it also leads to improved handling on the road. Now KGM and BYD are working in collaboration to produce not just EVs, but also hybrid and plug-in hybrids.

KGM expanded its model line-up in 2024 to include the rugged Torres SUV, as well as the fully-electric Torres EVX, the latter of which has a range of up to 287 miles between charges.

The traditionally-fuelled KGM Tivoli is described as a ‘mini SUV’, and competes with the likes of the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur, while the larger KGM Korando is an affordable rival to the Skoda Karoq and Kia Sportage SUVs.

The Rexton is KGM’s full fat, seven-seat lease offering. The capable off-roader has selectable all-wheel drive and makes a great leasing alternative to the Kia Sorento or Skoda Kodiaq.

Meanwhile the Musso is an award-winning pick-up from KGM. It comes exclusively with a double cab, and also gets four-wheel drive, a 3.5 tonne tow capacity, and a payload of up to 1,024 kg.

Why not consider something a little different for your next car lease? KGM Frequently Asked Questions

KGM, previously known as Ssangyong, might have passed you by as a manufacturer, but the Korean firm has been winning plaudits for its affordable, stylish and dependable range of vehicles.

And if you demand value for money above the prestige of a badge, then a KGM lease should be high on your list of possibilities.

The KGM Tivoli has been well-received by both lease customers and critics alike. An alternative to the Suzuki Vitara or the MG HS, the Tivoli is a crossover that’s exceptionally affordable and comes with a suite of driver assistance and safety systems as standard.

The rugged Musso, meanwhile, is a popular pick up with a towing capacity of 3,500kg and a payload of 1,050kg. With more and more manufacturers pulling their pick-ups from the UK market, the Musso is in hot demand right now.

Korean manufacturing know-how is not to be sniffed at - just look at the success of fellow Korean firms such as Kia and Hyundai. The KGM Korando mid-sized SUV was recently awarded the maximum five stars by safety assessors Euro NCAP.

And if you want optimum practicality, check out the Rexton - a large SUV to rival the Skoda Kodiaq or the Hyundai Santa Fe and which was crowned ‘Best Value 4x4’ by 4x4 Magazine for four years in succession.

The most affordable KGM to lease is the Tivoli, but all of the vehicles in the line-up offer great value when compared to rivals. The Tivoli is a compact SUV crossover with great style and a perhaps surprisingly-sumptuous interior.

Standard kit includes heated seats, heated steering wheel, tinted glass, a rear view camera, an 8 inch infotainment touchscreen, and driver aids such as lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking.

A KGM lease is pleasingly affordable, no matter which model you choose. The Korando SUV is a tempting alternative to the Mazda CX-5 or the Skoda Karoq, yet can be leased for the same sort of monthly fee as a much more compact electric Fiat 500. The Korando is powered by either a 1.5 litre petrol engine or a frugal 1.6 litre diesel engine, though an all-electric version will also be available.

Other manufacturers similar to KGM include Kia, Hyundai, Dacia, Skoda, Mazda and Suzuki.

I had a great experience and good customer service from Garry Rahman, from the moment I enquired for a car quotation to delivery. He is professional, respectful and answered all my questions very patiently. There was no pressure to take a decision in haste which I really liked. He explained all my options clearly and made the entire car buying experience smooth and hassle free. I definitely recommend Garry to anyone who is looking to buy a car. Thank you Garry.

This is the third lease company I’ve used, but in terms of the ordering process, the communication, the documentation and the speed of delivery I would have to place Select first for customer service. I also secured a great price (for a Hyundai Tucson) as well as having the flexibility of not needing to pay a deposit, which made the deal very attractive. However, I’m fully aware that you can’t truly judge a car leasing company until the end of the contract when the car is being returned, as that is what genuinely separates one leasing company from another. On that basis, my rating is based on the relationship to date. The delivery of the car itself was one area where I have experienced a superior service from another lease company. The company in question would deliver their cars on a transporter so the cars were delivered to my house in immaculate condition with something like 20 miles on the clock. The car I received a few days ago was driven about 100 miles to my home, on a rainy day in December, so it was handed over to me dirty. A relatively minor point.
